Guiding Questions Answered
1) What is social Justice? And what does it look like in the 21st century?
Social Justice for me is when people stop dying for other peoples fault such as how many people are in Mexico. In the 21st century I believe that there still isn’t much justice for all of the people who have nothing to do with the cartel members.
2) What values, principles, and beliefs do you think should be used to guide humanity in the 21st century?
Some values, principles or beliefs that should be used to guide humanity in the 21st century are human rights, and an image of utopia. To learn how to respect others and stop creating our own countries into a war zone as how Mexicans are making Mexico into another Afghanistan.
3) What are obstacles that we face in the struggle? How can they be overcome?
The obstacles that we face are lack of money in that area that is being hit the most with the cartel wars. This makes young people believe that they will get money fast just by selling drugs or even killing other people.
My Speech
Call the firefighters because I am burning in rage. I don’t get angered very easily, but when I do there will be fire. There isn’t anything in this world that gets me more heated up than seeing people get hurt when they are not responsible for doing any. Now seeing many Mexican citizens being killed for no apparent reason because of the cartels gets me really mad. This gets me mad because it separates families, impoverishes Latinos, and addicts kids to drugs.
This issue is separating families because many people are losing family members due to the deaths that are being caused in the streets of Mexico. This is bad because most times the people being murdered are not involved with the cartels that are killing. Kidnapping also separates families as the person being kidnapped might last months or even years away from his or her family members and no one knows if they will come back home
This has given Mexicans a huge hit as they will be put through poverty. Many people are going through poverty because of this because it is harder to find jobs as many are closing down due to the violence. Also many people lose their homes where the violence is really high as they try to escape and continue living. This will also make more people try and come to the United States which will be a huge change in their life as they will have to adapt to the American life and live through racism.
As many parents are coming to the United States to earn money they leave their kids in Mexico which is a terrible idea. Many kids that do not have parents with them tend to get addicted to drugs. There is a higher possibility now to get addicted to drugs in Mexico as many cartels tend to try and make younger people join their cartels as they are easier to convince especially when they can get easy money.
This should end as soon as possible. Just allow everyone to live in peace in Mexico. For them to live in a utopia. This violence is hurting all of the Mexican citizens just for living in Mexico.
